Awarded in 1993 and 1994 by the United States Information Agency. USIA awarded the Smith Grant in 1995 requesting that Sterling increase its funding to $15,000. 6. USIA Service Award for Ukrainian Student Exchange 1994. 7. Applied for and received a federal Freedom Support Act Grant for school to school student exchanges with the former Soviet Republics in the amount of $32,000. Awarded by the United States Information Agency in 1996, the grant is for the purpose of organizing exchanges with Ukraine through the Interdistrict. 8. ASSE International Student Exchange Programs Award for service and assistance to foreign exchange students in Sterling High School, 1994 and 1995.
Accomplishments and Awards · Organized the Sterling High School Ukrainian Exchange Boosters which is a parent\' group to assist the student exchange with fundraisers, volunteer help, and organization. · Friends of Sterling High School Committee. Organized community voter drive to pass the Sterling School Budget 1993 through 1997. This effort was successful in both 1993 and 1995 when the budget passed. · Organized the Sterling High School Vietnam Veterans Memorial Program in 1991. Built the data base and coordinated the construct of the memorial and the program content.
